Glance at Your Goals!

Published January 16, 2012 by sweetcraftastrophe

Morning darlings,

Hope you had an eventful but safe weekend! Since this new year has begun it’s been hard to focus on my goals and I know that I can longer blame winter break! I’m not much of a morning person until I make a pit stop to Starbucks but even before then I have completely forgotten my goals. The past year has flown by so quickly and now its a brand new year, a new page so this year I’m changing things up a bit. Instead of keeping my goals tucked away they will always be visible from now on beside my bed. This way I have no excuses not to be accountable to myself. Another idea for you visual learners like myself is to create a visualization board and yes it may sound a little cheesy but who cares?! You deserve to make the most of this and every year! I used to think they were silly and pointless but it’s actually very helpful to assign pictures to the goals you WILL accomplish.Once you create your own visual board this will help keep you motivated and excited for each day.

Make Today Ridiculously Amazing!

Morning sunshine!

“You’ve got to win in your mind before you win in your life.” – John Addison

It’s exactly one week till finals and I couldn’t be happier! I am so so so excited for this semester to be over and done with! This is one of the MOST stressful times of the year and you shouldn’t stress yourself out (it causes worry lines 😉 Not that you wouldn’t look gorgeous either way. Anyways sometimes it helps me to look at some inspiring quotes and pictures to get through the day and remind myself to keep going. I figured it would be a great idea to share some of my faves with you lovelies!

Here’s 12 tidbits of wisdom to guide you through the week!

A meteorology professor stood before his Meteorology 101 class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty glass mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a jar of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open spaces between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar and of course the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous yes. The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and then proceeded to pour the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the grains of sand. The students laughed. “Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things — your family, your partner, your health, your children, your friends, your favorite passions — things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. “The pebbles are the other things that matter, like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else — the small stuff.
“If you put the sand into the jar first,” he continued, “there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. Play another 18.
“There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first — the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.” One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of beers.”

Beautiful Reminder

Published November 21, 2011 by sweetcraftastrophe

Good Morning,

How was your weekend? Well I’m sure you’d rather be cuddled up in bed watching a movie but it is Monday and we do have places to be! I was on Pinterest the other day looking for printables and came across this beauty.

What a great daily reminder! I am so excited to share this with you! Print this out and place anywhere you want or even send this off to your friends and family for the holidays.I think I’ll be placing this  on my mirror so I can remind myself of this everyday. Each line carries so much meaning and is so poignant. It’s a daily reminder of what we should be and want to be because after all we’re human and sometimes stray away from our ideal selves.  Consider this letter while you’re busy at school, work or even at home. Along with being the most wonderful time of year it’s also the busiest which can lead to lower tolerance levels. So consider this letter today and everyday to remind yourself to have some compassion and understanding.

Good Morning lovelies!

I hope you had a fantastic weekend and hopefully got most of your to-do’s done. It’s another Monday morning and that means a new week is upon us! It feels like each week goes by faster than the previous. Pretty soon it will be Black Friday (my all time fav shopping holiday)! For those of you that are allergic to mornings as I am it’s no easy feat to get up and quit hitting the snooze button so that’s why I’m sending you all some morning inspiration for the week. So sit back and enjoy your morning dose of coffee/tea and enjoy a little “me time”.

Have a sweet day!
